Catching is FUN! Especially when it is Father and Son!
CONDITIONS: Summer
WATER TEMPERATURE 64 IN FLOW 97.6 CFS OUT FLOW 96.8
TROUT: (Rainbow, Cuttbow, Cutthroat, Brown) STILL EXCELLENT: The epic bite continues. Trollers complaining of catching to many fish. Imagine that. Action fast and furious for all specie with sizes running 13 to 20 inches. Most fish are from the winter stocking but lots of other bigger fish are being landed. A numbers game to be sure. Many spoons and lures working with Tas Devils, Dick Nites and Arnies doing best. Shore anglers also doing well on typical baits. Nite anglers are hiding behind rocks and trees to bait their hooks. The bite is that intense.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR AT BEST: We really thought after such a great winter we would see a better open water season. But sporadic bites and elusive schools are yielding only moderate action. Many that are caught are large with the younger fish hiding. Change up baits but concentrate on red, pink and orange colors. No one bait has proved itself to be consistent.
NORTHERN PIKE: POOR: The little ones are catchable but the bigger fish are not biting. Try your luck but be prepared to work it hard. Wow. I suppose they are waiting for September to turn on. Serious Fishermen Team Pike Tournament September 11. Contest sign up fliers will be out soon.
