Fishing Report

Weekly Fishing Report 7.22.2010

CONDITIONS: Water Temperature 65 degrees. 98.6  CFS IN   97.5 CFS OUT.          All park facilities are open. Starting to see some of that algae bloom that occurs as the water warms.

TROUT: EXCELLENT: The strong bite continues. Boat anglers doing great. Fish are getting a little more particular about lures and colors but when you find the right one look out.  Rainbows, Browns, Cutthroats and Cuttbows are all in the mix. It is hard to believe but peoploe are complaining they are only catching fish from 13 to 16 inches and they whine about not catching bigger ones. Most bigger fish are caught in the Spring and Fall. Be thankful for the bite. It is way better than getting skunked. Turn the kids on to fishing by catching lots and lots of fish.

KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR: Larger fish are being caught frequently but few limits. Smaller ones have not been biting. Folks have come in bragging about catching a bunch of salmon but are really trout. Know your fish or you will be over the limit. Tas Devils, Apex, Needlefish and Kastmasters do well. Work Goose Island to Duck and Duck to Deer. Fish are 30 to 40 feet down.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO POOR:  A few big fish are starting to turn up but it is still difficult. Mid afternoon seems to be best.

MARINA HOURS: MONDAY – FRIDAY 7:00AM – 7:00PM
