Weekly Fishing Report 05.17.12

Just another great day on the Mile.

CONDITIONS: The lake is open to boating. Witchers Cove boat ramp will be closed until the Memorial holiday weekend. All other Park facilities are open. Great weather is back.  The annual hatch is on in a big way.

WATER FLOW:       155  CFS   IN   147  CFS OUT     WATER TEMP: 52

TROUT: GOOD: To be sure the May Fly hatch cools the bite off but action is still good early morning, mid afternoon, sundown and at night. The fish will get fat and happy this week and will be hungrier than ever when its over. Rainbows, Cuttbows and Cutthroats running 14 to 17 inches in abundance. Trollers doing well from North Shore to all points west. Shoreline areas see the best action when an afternoon change in weather occurs.

SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: There’s another one. A seriously nice one. Still waiting for more than one. No sense getting greedy. One is always better none.                                                       Caught on the Tasmanian Devil. The one known as “Tinkerbell”.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Not to bad in the mid morning hours. Howbert to Witchers Cove and Stoll Mtn to points west. Husky Jerks and jointed Rapala doing well. Bite goes in spurts. Gotta work it.

HOURS: M-S 7:00AM – 7:00PM

Stop in this weekend. Lets talk fishing.

No Name Tournament starts Friday night.
