SPRINGER FIRE: UPDATE 06.27.12: The fire is 100% contained. Eleven Mile Canyon has reopened. The Back Country campsites here at the Park have reopened. All Park facilities are open. Highway 24 is still closed at Manitou Springs as a result of the Waldo Canyon Fire. There are other ways to get here. From Denver Metro 285 to Fairplay is about the same two hours as if you went 25 to 24. From the Springs you need to go to Canon City and come in the back door. Takes about an hour longer. Our prayers go out to all those in harms way of the Waldo Canyon Fire. All the businesses here need your support. The air quality at the Park is excellent. The Park is open and safe. Don’t avoid us because of the Waldo Canyon Fire. Except for 24 closed we are still open for business.

WATER FLOW: CFS 101 IN 78.4 CFS OUT WATER TEMP: 59
TROUT: EXCELLENT TO OUTSTANDING: Boaters are doing way better than shore anglers. Night shore anglers fare much better than the day anglers. Trollers can’t get a minute to have a snack. Lots of spoons and baits working. Needlefish, Dick Nites, Kastmasters and Tas Devils continue their great production. Color changes based on the time of day. Lots of fish suspended 15 to 25 feet deep. Lead core rigs, down riggers and cow bells all producing. We are talking serious catching. Lots of smaller fish mostly Rainbows, Cutbows and Cutthroats running 14 to 16 inches but there are a fair number of bigger fish up to 7 pounds being landed. The action off a boat is non stop and tons of fun. .
SALMON: POOR: Looking for just one. One would be nice even a little one. Oh I heard some one caught one.
NORTHERN PIKE: POOR: They must be fat and happy because they sure are hard to catch. Not impossible but hard.
HOURS: M-S 7:00AM – 7:00PM
We have installed a new modular for our store and office. Our current space is 12 x 36. Our new space will be 24 x 60. We hope to have it all done by the end of the month and have our old unit removed. In the mean time parking might be a little tight around our store. We are excited about the new space. The new store will have expanded offerings in groceries, camping, fishing supplies, clothes and lots more.
