Fishing Report

Weekly Fishing Report 07.19.12

To all my friends in Lubbock, TX "This is what I caught fishing with 11 Mile Marina"

CONDITIONS: All Park facilities are open. Campfires allowed. Algae bloom is starting to show up. Weeds floating around make trolling a bit more work. Check your line often.

WATER FLOW:         CFS  248  IN   239   CFS OUT     WATER TEMP: 64

TROUT: VERY GOOD: The bite is still strong but there have been a few days where it has been a bit slower. Changing up baits is important. What they hit yesterday may not be what they hit today. Trollers finding the weeds giving them problems. Bait drifters don’t have the problem. Dick Nites, Arnies Dynamac’s and Reflecto’s are very productive. Not as many big fish as last week but still quite a few. The 15 inchers you caught last month are 16 and over now. Remember you can only have two Trout 16 inches or bigger. The Wildlife management plan of stocking in the Winter has been hugely successful now its up to the anglers to obey size restrictions.

SALMON:  FAIR TO POOR: Although there are still fish being caught the majority of folks come up short. Ones and twos but not much more than that. There are some huge ones but mostly smaller. The best action is right out from the Marina in the channel down 30 to 40 feet. No down rigger, no lead core no salmon.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Action is starting to pick up. Large Rapala’s and Husky Jerks finding some success. Howbert to Witchers Cove and Rocky Flats to Stoll Mountain a good bet.

HOURS: M-S 7:00AM – 7:00PM
