CONDITIONS: All Park facilities are open. Campfires allowed. Consistent afternoon rain has greened things up significantly.
WATER FLOW: CFS 173 IN 192 CFS OUT WATER TEMP: 68
TROUT: GOOD: The weeds are bad and make trolling difficult. Lead core rigs are almost useless unless you constantly maintain a clean line and that becomes work. The Down Rigger is a huge asset now. Although you may pick up weed on your cable or even line near the surface your bait is clear working deeper water depth 35 to 60 and going down 25 to 40 feet. There are spots on the lake that are clean of floating weeds. You just have to hope there are fish there. Fished off of Rodgers Mountain to about the middle of the lake and had no weed trouble. Needlefish, Needlefish, Needlefish and an occasional Dick Nite. Bite has been early. After 10:00AM you have to be patient but you will still catch. Sizes continue to vary with Cutthroat, Cuttbow and Rainbow running 14 to 20 inches. Big fish are not uncommon. Shore action is good depending on your location on the lake. Suckers Cove to Rocking Chair and certain spots around North Shore have been productive. Night anglers always having fun and success.
SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: The bite was short lived. Not very many showing up.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Action continues to pick up. Large Rapala’s and Husky Jerks finding some success. Howbert to Witchers Cove and Rocky Flats to Stoll Mountain a good bet. Bite times are sporadic with 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM some what consistent.
CRAYFISH: GOOD TO EXCELLENT: The season is on. Fishing license required. No limit. We like to boil them Cajun style. We have traps for sale and expert advice on how to go to New Orleans with out ever leaving Eleven Mile.
