11 MILE MARINA TROUT CLASSIFICATION: Here at the Marina we always are trying to have fun. We classify Trout by size and here is our name system. FIDGET: fish 13 inches or smaller. TYPICAL: fish 13 to 16 inches. STANDARD: fish 16 to 20 inches. LUNKER: fish 20 to 25 inches GUNKER: fish bigger than 25 inches.

CONDITIONS:: Park is open 24/7/365. All Park facilities are open. Witchers Cove Boat Ramp open Friday through Sunday. Brief thunder showers still can show up in the afternoon. No fire ban and things are green. Some complain about the weeds on the West End but it has been much worse in years past. The clumps of weeds hold food for the fish and casting around them is productive. There is also no crazy algae bloom like we have seen in years past. Although there is some it is minimal.

WATER FLOW:   IN 201  CFS    OUT: 207 CFS Water Temp 66

LEAD CORE TROLLING RIGS catch more fish. Let us show you how. Combo’s fully rigged with lead line and leader ready to catch starting at $129.00.. Lead core with a Tas can’t be beat. Buy a rig this weekend get a free Tasmanian devil.

TROUT: GOOD: Trolling lead core with Tas Devils has been productive. Down rigger with a variety of baits has also been consistent. Fish suspended from 20 to 30 feet. Always work the bottom too no matter where you are. We have had good days on the #502 Gold Super Duper, Needlefish brass bikini and Kastmaster with anything gold on it. Tube jigs have been hit and miss but when they hit it’s been very good. Callibaetis hatch consistent every day at mid morning until about 1:00PM. Shore anglers see best action early and late in the day. Above Gunker tipped the scales over 8lbs caught from shore. We have the baits! Power Bait, Fire Bait, Pautzke Salmon Eggs Mallows galore and more.

KOKANEE SALMON:POOR: One of our guides out fishing by himself caught one off of Goose Island and Rocking Chair. He said it was full off gill lice but put up a big fight. Caught on a Mack’s Squid.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Fish being caught but it is certainly not gang busters. Work the rocks or the weed lines 25 feet of water or less. Husky Jerks, big spoons and other stick bait in addition to Trout patterned swim baits have done well. We always like Bill’s Spinner Baits. Bite times vary look to mid morning to early afternoon. Some bigger fish showing up. Serious Fishermen Team Pike Tournament sign up forms available at Marina, Valley Country Tackle and Sportsman’s Warehouse in Colorado Springs. We are still having issues posting a sign up form so you can pay online. Call 719-748-0317 and sign up over the phone anytime.
