ICE FISHING: It won’t be long and we are all getting stoked for a new Season. We have signed up STRIKER BRANDS as a new sponsor for the EAGLE CLAW/SHAPPELL ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT SERIES 2026. JANUARY 10, FEBRUARY 7 and MARCH 7. Striker Ice were the first to introduce flotation technology for their Winter coats and bibs developed 15 YEARS AGO! AND we were one of the first to offer their line. We carried them for a couple years, then other manufacturers jumped into the flotation market and along with the big boxers it was hard for us to compete. Now they have matured and developed a great line of products including flotation tech vests and other things. Our store has also matured and developed and we will be offering a variety of Striker Brand products this year for Men and Woman. Probably a better selection then you will find elsewhere in addition to similar if not better pricing. If you have been thinking of getting a Striker Ice product give us a call we can order it for you have it ready instore or ship it direct to you.

ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

FALL TROPHY SEASON IS RIGHT NOW!!

TROUT: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Lots of BIG trophy fish being caught from shore and boat. This weekend looks like good weather and shore action has been keeping those that know coming back. What you don’t know you don’t know but we know for sure that you won’t catch them if you don’t try. Lots of baits working. Stop in and we will hook you up!

SALMON: POOR: The river is chock full of 4 year olds and plenty fun to catch. The best flies to use are egg patterns or san juan worm. They will hit small hardware and tubes also. A boat angler came in recently and said he caught his limit straight out from the Marina in 60 feet of water. We were skeptical but he had photo proof which we forgot to get from him. They were mostly smaller fish 10 to 14 inches but that is great news. He said he was working a Dodger with a Wiggle Hootchie and was able to stay on the specific spot where they were hanging out. It was where we often ice fish for them so hopefully this is a good omen for Winter.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Some anglers have done great pitching baits with Perch color patterns particularly Rapala’s. Shore line at Suckers Cove and North Shore has seen production on fish running 26 to 34 inches. Look for 10 feet of water as the hotspot easily reachable from shore.

ROAD: GOOD: They have chip and sealed the road from Lake George to CR/92 then dirt for about 2 miles then chip and seal to the General Store. Apparently the story is the Contractor did the section closer to the lake when the contract was for Lake George to CR92. So the County apparently got an additional 4 miles or so done for free since the Contractor made a big mistake. We will take a better road no matter how it happens. Good for us and the County not the Contractor. CR 23 FAIR: From highway 24 CR 23 is got loose gravel, hardpacked with some washboard. It certainly has been worse. CR 92 into 59 to Spinney FAIR: Hard packed with washboard conditions here and there some ruts but still better than what it was.

PIC # 1: Caught on Cross Creek Outfitters Snake River tube. High Noon caught and released

PIC # 2: Tubular! Green with sparkles Sundown

PIC # 3: Tasmanian Devil

PIC # 4: Sundown on this years boating season is Oct 31

PIC # 5: Marina Store. The place with the hot baits and up to date reliable information that you can’t get anywhere else.

BAD NEWS FOR BIG ROCK: Big Rock Sports, Inc one of our major suppliers/distributors for a long time and former participating sponsor of the ice fishing contests has gone out of business. They were a big National company. Not a lot of transparency as to the why’s but they fired their entire sales staff about two months and that was that. Everyone that bought from them including us are picking up the pieces and trying to figure out where to go and what to do. We have direct relationships in place with most of our manufacturers SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is lo cated at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
