The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots. WE ARE HERE FISHING EVERYDAY AND CAN PUT YOU ON THE FISH. We have a GREAT Ice Fishing selection of gear and baits.

TROPHY SEASON HOT BAITS: This is truly one of our favorite times of the year. Crappy weather, no crowds and lots of BIG fish. The thing about this time of year is almost all baits will work at some point in time. From sunup to sundown the bite varies. From flies to Power Bait and everything in between. If your aren’t catching you are switching up. For those that limit themselves to one method there will be down times. If you are a multi functional angler you should be prepared to do it all. No one bait is better than others when the fish decide, not the angler. Of course the fly folk would never use Power Bait and the Power Bait folk don’t think to highly of the fly folk anyway. But my Grandfather could and would fish with whatever the fish were biting on from Hendon Zara Spooks, streamer flies or nymphs to the good old night crawler. Lets not forget the mallow. So if you want big fish the big fish don’t care about your preference but getting a line in the lake is priority number one. Now we might be slightly prejudice but Eleven Mile is absolutely one of the best lakes in Colorado if not the Western United States. Not a joke lol and now is prime time.

Pautske products like their Salmon and Trout Eggs do really well. We have in stock the Pautske Spawn Sac Tyer which is a little contraption that makes it easy peasy to tie your own perfect spawn sacs. Just wing those out, fish off the bottom and batta bing batta boom…big fish! Come on in and we will show you how.

Lots of flies work great this time of year. Black is a popular color like a Wolly Bugger or Leach Pattern . But just like the rest the fish will change it up. At sundown you will see an incredible hatch of the tiniest bugs as it gets dark and the shoreline bubbles with fish. Trico’s work great if your eyes can tie them on. You don’t have to pitch a fly rod to use a fly but don’t tell those dream streamers that they will scoff at you. Fly and a three foot leader to water bubble works just fine and sometimes even better. We have Bungee Bubbles which are hard to find. Come on in and we will show you how.

Lots of hardware works, particularly when it gets windy. Although it never gets windy here as you all know. But when it does the Kastmaster shines. Other spoons like the Thomas Bouyant, Super Duper and Krocodile get hot. Come on in and we will show you the ones we are using.

Lots of jigs work particularly tubes and marabous. A technique is required that only comes with practice. The tubes come in a hundred different colors. We only stock the ones we catch fish on. Come on in and we will show you the jig de jour.

PIC # 1: This happy angler, one of the very few who came out this past snowy Saturday and scored with some great catching. He caught this one somewhere in the lake on a an undisclosed flavor of a popular floating bait. lol It was snowing.

PIC # 2: “My son Archer caught these master angler cut bows Sunday outside the marina after talking to you.  Caught both on a fly pattern he made up. Not even a sniff on bait.” Guess it pays to come in and talk to us for the latest before hitting the lake! Pic courtesy J. Butero

PIC # 3 Another happy Marina customer.

TROUT: VERY GOOD: Ice off action is in high gear. Lots of catching . This time of year lots of baits work. Flies, lures and bait all produce. Flies like Wooly Buggers, Nymphs, Leach and egg patterns all do well. Tube and marabou jigs along with Jointed Rapala are popular with the fish. And a worm or Power Bait is sure to connect. The bite has been through out the day. There are hot times with lulls but the fish are cruising the shallows.to be sure. Sundown always good. We should see this bite for another week or two depending on water temp.

KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT

NORTHERN PIKE: POOR: As many hours as we have put in on shore we can report that none of us have caught one. It’s all about water temp and for them its still a little too cold we think.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
