CURRENT CONDITIONS: ICE ON. Ice continues to thicken up and expand. Thickness running 11 to 14 inches. Pressure ridges and expansion cracks appearing here and there. That is a sign of ice expanding and getting thicker. Areas like that should be avoided. They may be pretty but they are volatile. Wind blown snow ice cleats advised.
ICE RINK: Because of the late ice and the manner in which lake has frozen we have not been able to set up a skating/hockey rink as of yet. No date set. There is ice to skate on but very inconsistent smoothness.
HOURS: Currently we are trying to be open 7 days/week depending on staff availability 8:00AM to 4:00PM Saturday open at 7:00

WINTER 2026 SEASON: We are very excited about the upcoming Winter Season. Although ice fishing is the premier draw many people come out to Eleven Mile State Park for Winter solitude, wildlife viewing, ice skating, ice kiting, cross country skiing, winter camping and adventures. As conditions develop we will maintain an ice skating rink with hockey nets behind the marina for seasonal use at no charge besides your Park Vehicle Pass. CPW will be hosting a Winter Carnival in February and of course we produce the annual Eagle Claw/Shappell Colorado Classic Ice Fishing tournament series held January, February and March. Besides our great store stocked with ice fishing gear/tackle we also feature rental equipment and a great crew of professional ice fishing guides. Larry F, Alex F, Rich K and welcoming this year Leslie B to the crew.
We also have a great deck right off the ice that you can schedule your special event or party at no charge based on availability. We have a grill and sound system if needed. Call to reserve.
ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
TROUT: GOOD: Action consistent for 17 to 19 inchers. Stockers moving around the lake. North Shore has seen stocking action last week.18,000 Cutthroats and 23,000 Cuttbows. Other good locations include Corral Cove, Stoll Mtn, Sucker Cove, Lazy Boy and Witchers. Lots of fish 20 feet of water or less. Chartreuse and Pink have been a catching colors. We have Gulp Alive Pink Flamingo Maggots. In place of meal worms work as good probably better.
SALMON: DEVELOPING: Not until a few days ago has anyone including us gone out to the deep/channel areas where the hunt normally begins. Staff went out one day with auger/vexilar and explored a number of spots drilling holes every 50 feet. Ice was consistently 11” and solid. Some activity was noted for a return trip the following day. Choosing a spot that was in 60 feet of water straight back from the Marina Alex and April had lots of excitement with little production. First salmon trip of the season not quite like riding a bike. Missed em missed em got em he’s off and so it went but encouraging. Yet to have been able to return.
NORTHERN PIKE: VERY GOOD: Lots of great catching continues on for chunky Northerns. Water dogs seem to be the bait they want. Fish them not more than 1 foot off the bottom. Try 6 to 8 feet of water no matter where. North Shore to Corral Cove have been particularly good.
ROAD: GOOD: They have chip and sealed the road from Lake George to CR/92 then dirt for about 2 miles then chip and seal to the General Store. The 2 miles of loose dirt and gravel is getting wash boarded and in POOR condition but still a small section of the 10 mile ride in.
CR92/59 to 23: FAIR : some parts recently graded.
