It has been mild to warm during the day but luckily wind has been down significantly and nighttime temps have still been single digits. Mostly glare ice with a few snow patches. Cleats highly advised for safety and traction.
ICE RINK: Because of the late ice and the manner in which lake has frozen we have not been able to set up a skating/hockey rink as of yet. No date set. There is ice to skate on but very inconsistent smoothness.

TROUT: GOOD: The week of the Browns! Some times it gets like that where one specie or another are all biting the same time. It was a great week for Eleven Mile Browns all around the lake. In addition bigger fish in general were being landed. The three Browns in pics were all caught on something different. In general lots of different baits are working. Tube jigs and Kastmasters have stood out as consistent producers. Move through the tackle box and try different things, you just never know. Stop by for latest info.
SALMON: FAIR: Not lots of folk are trying yet but the word is just getting out. There are fish being found and caught. We have been working North Shore out from the Marina in 60 feet of water. Fish are suspended in the 30’s down to the bottom. No word from Deer or Duck Island anglers as of yet and we generally don’t try other spots as long as we are seeing good numbers of fish which we are. We like the Gulp Flamingo maggots on pink jigs or Kastermasters and Krocodiles.
NORTHERN PIKE: VERY GOOD: Lots of great catching continue for chunky fish. Water dogs seem to be the bait they want. Fish them not more than 1 foot off the bottom. Try 6 to 8 feet of water no matter where. North Shore to Corral Cove have been particularly good. Rocky Flats to Stoll Mtn also good.
ROAD: GOOD: They have chip and sealed the road from Lake George to CR/92 then dirt for about 2 miles then chip and seal to the General Store. The 2 miles of loose dirt and gravel is getting wash boarded and in POOR condition but still a small section of the 10 mile ride in.
CR92/59 to 23: FAIR : some parts recently graded.

PIC # 3: Marina staffer, April, lands this great fish while on a salmon hunt. She was working a Kastmaster at 55 feet down in 60 feet of water when this beauty came off the bottom and hit hard. All three trebles in its mouth and a great fish fight.
PIC # 4: Three nice Kokes caught this past weekend out from North Shore. pic courtesy John I.
