WEEKLY FISHING REPORT 05.28.26
IT’S ABOUT THE CATCHING
MARINA STORE HOURS: REGULAR SEASON HOURS MAY 15 TO SEPTEMBER 15 HOLIDAY HOURS 8:00AM TO 6:00PM SATURDAY/SUNDAY 7:00AM TO 7:00PM
CURRENT CONDITIONS
WATER TEMP: 52
WATER FLOW: 232 CFS IN 217 CFS OUT
PARK FACILITIES OPEN: Good rainy day yesterday. Getting green
NO CURRENT FIRE BAN IN THE PARK: Fires allowed in campsite fire rings. Other areas in Park County such as National Forest may have other restrictions check local authorities.
HATCH IS ON: The annual May Fly hatch is on NOW, actually (Chironomids). It’s annoying but fattens up the fish. People spray themselves with OFF etc but that doesn’t help. We suggest the best use for your old Covid mask. These bugs hatch underwater and come from the mud. They swim to the surface. The ones that don’t make it are fish food. This tend to slow the bite up a little. So early AM is usually a better time to fish. It lasts about 10 days.
STOP IN FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE CATCHING INFO: Wear your 11 Mile Marina logo hat, shirt, etc get 10% storewide discount some restrictions apply
TROUT: FAIR: Slower action will pick up again when the hatch is on the wane. Shore anglers working crawler/mallows and Power and Fire Bait off the bottom doing well. Boat action slower but still catching if you work it and go through the box. Jointed Rapala’s doing well we really like the J-9 BT. Early bite followed by late morning. Afternoon is tougher.
KOKANEE SALMON:FAIR TO GOOD: Even the salmon eat the bugs. Bite has also slowed a little but still seeing action out from North Shore and points East to Deer Island. Many fish are holding deep. Many options are catching but trolling is the most used. One boat renter caught one in calm conditions going over the side working the bottom in 45 feet of water and caught a nice one. Most fish running 15 to 18 inches with frequent ones 20” or bigger being landed. Needlefish and Tas Devils with pink being the most successful although orange has also done well.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Bite is picking up. Try Husky Jerks with a vigorous action then let it sit. They are hitting it when it’s sitting still. Pike A Thon demonstrates people who put in the time get rewarded. Fish are much bigger and healthier out of Eleven Mile vs Spinney. There are too many Pike in Spinney hence lots of smaller fish.
ROAD: GOOD: They have chip and sealed the road from Lake George to CR/92 then dirt for about 2 miles then chip and seal to the General Store. The 2 miles of loose dirt and gravel was just graded and sprayed. It is as good as it will be right now but washboard conditions returning. The new chip and seal installed by mistake and not done as well as the CR90 section is seeing some wear due to the heavy logging equipment going in and out. Crickets out of Park County BOCC. For now the way in from Lake George is still way better than last year.
CR 23 to 59:FAIR TO POOR:
CR 90 to 92:FAIR: recently graded
