WATER FLOW: 127 CFS IN 144 CFS OUT

WATER TEMP: 63-5

ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

TROUT: GOOD: Action is still good from shore or boat. Timing is important but its hard to predict. Today there was a strong bite trolling from 11:30AM until 1:00PM. It was cold last night and the water temp had dropped to 63 from 65. The weeds went down substantially in the morning but returned later in the day as the cloud cover cleared wind died and it got sunny and hot. Water went up to 65 and weeds came back up to the surface. Shore anglers like Power Bait, Nightcrawlers/mallow. Shore anglers also pitching Kastmasters and Tas Devils. Trollers need to change up but can find the hot bait eventually.

SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: The same situation. Right place right time. Have not seen anyone really score big numbers but for those that put in the time two or three are possible. Best action has been straight out from Marina in 60 feet of water.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Action up and down with wind being your friend shore or boat. Calm conditions makes it very difficult. Big sticks like Rapala Husky Jerks doing well. Big spoons also landing a few. Size has been 24 to 28 inches in general with occasionally bigger ones being landed up to 36 plus inches.

ROAD: FAIR TO POOR: CR90 from Lake George to just past 92 has be worked on and should be good through the weekend at least. From there it is washboard mostly with a few acceptable spots.

CALL TO ACTION ROAD REPORT CALL TO ACTION DON’T STOP WE NEED TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON

COMPLAINING TO THE COUNTY NEEDS TO CONTINUE UNABATED. THE STATE NEEDS TO HEAR A CONSTANT DRUMBEAT AS THE GOVENOR OBVIOUSLY COULD CARE LESS. DNR IS AS CLOSE AS WE CAN GET TO THE GOVENORS EAR

The 4th of July the 5th and 6th saw one of the most horrendous effects of bad planning on the part of Park County. With the road being freshly graded and dry conditions with out any kind of plan for dust mitigation the road from the 11 Mile Village, Eleven Mile Lake Sites, General Store and Park was a cloud of toxic dust for the whole weekend as hundreds of vehicles came and went. An avalanche of complaints appears to have sparked action as the road from here to at least the Black Tree Resort has been worked on again. This time it looks as though they did a much better job then before the holiday but dust mitigation on weekends should be done. It’s a Public Health Issue!

Not much has changed on the long term planning. Like none. This road needs to be paved. How do we get there? Will be meeting with the County Manager today to discuss a plan of attack that will be collaborative in nature. The complaints made by many of you were heard loud and clear. Action is what is needed and hopefully we are beginning that process.

CALL TO ACTION

NEXT: Dan Gibbs, Executive Director CO Department Of Natural Resources. Closest to the Governor that we can get. Lets let him know how we feel. CPW is directed by DNR ACT NOW THANK YOU

Two of the Premier State Parks that Colorado brags so much about, Eleven Mile and Spinney almost not accessible. The County says the State this The State says the County that. For decades the problem has existed. And the Feds are running a clear cut logging operation in the National Forest running heavy equipment up and down the road. Who pays for that damage. Why should the County? The CPW road money recently made a available to local County’s with roads through Parks is a joke and the County is broke not a joke. The available funds are minuscule compared to the problem. A collaborative effort is required. No more pointing fingers.

When you do complain its always best to be courteous. My grandfather always said “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar”. Some of the messages left with the County are inappropriate. We know you are angry but be respectful and professional when lodging your complaints

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
