WATER FLOW: 155 CFS IN 127 CFS OUT
WATER TEMP: 63-5
ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
TROUT: GOOD: Action is sporadic with hot bites followed by waiting. A fair number of Browns caught last week in the 15 to 17 inch class. Cuttbows running 14 to 16 inches with occasional lunkers. Trollers doing good with Tas Devils, smaller Arnies pop gear with a nightcrawler trailer. Zonkers on the fly rod have done particularly well. Shore anglers love the nightcrawlers and Power or Pautzke Fire Baits. Night anglers love the 2:00 AM bite. As always stop in for the latest updates.
SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: The same situation. Right place right time. Have not seen anyone really score big numbers but for those that put in the time two or three are possible. Best action has been straight out from Marina in 60 feet of water.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Many smaller fish turning up but keeps you on your toes waiting on a bigger one. Tube jigs, Stick Baits and Bill’s Spinner Bait producing. Mid to late morning a good time. Shoreline from Hobert to Goose Island a good bet.
ROAD: FAIR TO VERY POOR: Although an attempt has been made on the section from Lake George to CR 92 for the third time and is in decent shape today, who knows how long that will last. The rest of the way is pretty bad. Park County BOCC complains they have no money but get this. Last year they had $8M in a road budget account. They spent just under $4M on the failed project for 90/92, 59, 23 and the Elkhorn. Then all of a sudden they only had $400,000.00 left and literally said they don’t know where the money went laying the blame on the Public Works Director who they fired 9 months ago. You would think an audit would be in order. NOT DONE. What are we to think? No money and no accountability. Failure to do anything regarding dust mitigation in the Eleven Mile Village, Lake Sites and Park has drove me to file a Notice Of Claim against the County BOCC pursuant to CRS 24-10-109. We’ve had it!!

Two of the Premier State Parks that Colorado brags so much about, Eleven Mile and Spinney almost not accessible. The County says the State this The State says the County that. For decades the problem has existed. And the Feds are running a clear cut logging operation in the National Forest running heavy equipment up and down the road. Who pays for that damage. Why should the County? The CPW road money recently made a available to local County’s with roads through Parks is a joke and the County is broke not a joke. The available funds are minuscule compared to the problem. A collaborative effort is required. No more pointing fingers.
When you do complain its always best to be courteous. My grandfather always said “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar”. Some of the messages left with the County are inappropriate. We know you are angry but be respectful and professional when lodging your complaints
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way.
