ICE FISHING: It won’t be long and we are all getting stoked for a new Season. We have signed up STRIKER BRANDS as a new sponsor for the EAGLE CLAW/SHAPPELL ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT SERIES 2026. JANUARY 10, FEBRUARY 7 and MARCH 7. Striker Ice were the first to introduce flotation technology for their Winter coats and bibs developed 15 YEARS AGO! AND we were one of the first to offer their line. We carried them for a couple years, then other manufacturers jumped into the flotation market and along with the big boxers it was hard for us to compete. Now they have matured and developed a great line of products including flotation tech vests and other things. Our store has also matured and developed and we will be offering a variety of Striker Brand products this year for Men and Woman. Probably a better selection then you will find elsewhere in addition to similar if not better pricing. If you have been thinking of getting a Striker Ice product give us a call we can order it for you have it ready instore or ship it direct to you.

ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

FOR FALL TROPHY SEASON HAS STARTED COME CATCH YOURS

TROUT: GOOD: In general action has been good for most and great for others. Some trollers still struggling but many big fish being caught from shore and boat. Anglers on shore doing great with Night Crawlers or Power Bait but also seeing action pitching lures like Tas Devils and Kastmasters. Boaters pitching tube jigs seeing great success when at the right place at the right time. Color patterns change frequently but, pumpkin pepper, greens and white have produced.. We have “Demented” and “Snake River” color patterns from Dry Creek that have done particularly well.

SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: The river is chock full of 4 year olds and plenty fun to catch. The best flies to use are egg patterns or san juan worm. They will hit small hardware and tubes also. A boat angler came in recently and said he caught his limit straight out from the Marina in 60 feet of water. We were skeptical but he had photo proof which we forgot to get from him. They were mostly smaller fish 10 to 14 inches but that is great news. He said he was working a Dodger with a Wiggle Hootchie and was able to stay on the specific spot where they were hanging out. It was where we often ice fish for them so hopefully this is a good omen for Winter.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Lots of anglers having luck on smaller fish but there are a fair number of decent ones 34 to 38 inches being landed. Big sticks, Spinner Baits and tube jigs seeing activity. Most go West but we like East in the Coves around Witchers and the Denver Water boat dock cove area. Mid morning to mid afternoon seems to be the best.

ROAD: GOOD: They have chip and sealed the road from Lake George to CR/92 then dirt for about 2 miles then chip and seal to the General Store. Apparently the story is the Contractor did the section closer to the lake when the contract was for Lake George to CR92. So the County apparently got an additional 4 miles or so done for free since the Contractor made a big mistake. We will take a better road no matter how it happens. Good for us and the County not the Contractor. CR 23 is starting to deteriorate again. CR 59 to from here to Spinney is OK

PIC # 1: Michael took his Dad and son out on a Lund rental October 13. The weather was nasty if you don’t like cold and snow and we were prepared to refund their rental. Most folks showed up and left instead of braving the elements. These guys were determined. They had never been here before and had limited boating experience. Wind wasn’t too bad so the went for it. We gave them instructions to hide out in Corral Cove fishing worms and pitching Kastmasters. The snow flurries that were predicted turned into a snow storm for a while and there were white out conditions. We were a little worried about them but then they appeared out of the clouds and snow and made it in with BIG smiles. They said they had none stop action and were too excited to feel the cold until they got back. They warmed up in the store and told us their stories. His young sone will never forget the memories they caught that day.

PIC # 2: Some real nice Cuttbows. 11 Mile Marina guide trip
