WATER FLOW: 70.3 CFS IN 63.6 CFS OUT Losing a little everyday but lake still in great condition.

FIRE BAN PARK COUNTY STAGE 1 YES allowed to have campfires in the Park campsites

ROAD CONDITIONS: CR 90/92 from Lake George is great with the new chip n seal. But once you get to the Park CR 92 to Spinney it’s pretty bad. 11 Mile Sports, Inc. has not given up on it’s legal quest seeking a court order to make Park County at the very minimum finish chip and seal through the Park on CR 92 to CR 23 to State Highway 24. The company is also seeking financial damages to be proved at trial. An action will be filed soon per the Notice of Claim filed last year.

NOTE: CR92 from Park to Spinney was finally graded properly TODAY for the first time. Prior grading was simply a joke. Should be good for a while. but NOT a long term solution, not even close.

TROUT: GOOD: Action is picking up as Fall starts to set the table for a great month of catching. The water temperature dropping will send the fish into an eating frenzy fattening up for Winter. Boaters are seeing new and improved trolling results with all sizes and multiple specie making appearances. Tas Devils have been hot on the cast or troll. Shore anglers liking nightcrawlers and mallows. Bite times have shifted to a bit earlier than the last few weeks with sun up to 10:00AM being good. Mid afternon and sundown do not dissapoint.

KOKANEE SALMON:FAIR TO POOR: Quite a few fish have been caught jigging or casting vs trolling. As the four year old’s move West to head up the river anglers have caught them from Rocking Chair to Cross Creek. Tas Devils and tube jigs have caught a surprise here and there.

NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: DITTO AGAIN! Lots of great action continues all around the lake. Many different baits and locations are working. We like points East. Less crowd bigger fish. West end active along the weed beds. Corral Cove, Coyote Ridge and North Shore areas good. Howbert Point to Goose Island also good. Fire Tiger patterns in almost any bait draws their attention. Big sticks like Rapala Husky Jerks, F18’s in firetiger and brown trout working well. Spoons like the traditional gold Kastmaster can also produce. Spinner Baits should also be in the rotation. Large Mepps spinners with bucktail hitting good. Even catching them on the tubes. You lose a few in the process. This last week saw lots of fish landed. Spinney also seeing great action but as the pictures shows fish are not as chunky there. Eleven Mile is a healthy lake with a proper balance. Spinney is unfortunately in difficult draught times. Water level down dramatically and being overrun with Pike.

PIC # 5: Slabadab-a-dingdong. CPW works hard creating and stocking incredible fisheries through out Colorado. The fish stocked are for sport and also for a major food source. Nothing like Trout, Salmon and Pike out of Eleven Mile. Beautiful Trout fillets like these provide delicious and healthy meals for many folks. Do we eat all the fish we keep, yes. Do we keep all the fish we catch, no.
