AUGUST CRAWFISH BOIL. We will have a crawfish boil open to the general public starting Saturday August 9 and every Saturday through August 30. A fundraiser for Fishing Has No Boundaries. The minimum donation is now $10.00 Includes a big pile of crawfish corn and potatoes. Cajun style like we do. The hard costs to produce the boil was just eating us alive. We donated 100% of the $5.00 per plate to FHNB but we have to cover the costs. Begins between noon and 1:00PM
FHNB: They will also host a fund raising BBQ on Sunday. Come one come all help out.
PARK OPEN 24/7/365
CURRENT CONDITIONS: No Fire Ban. Although the forecast has been heavy with rain predictions that does not mean it rains all day. On the contrary a typical day has seen nothing but great weather in the morning through the afternoon with occasional showers that last all of 20 minutes. Most of the rain has come at night. The switch from hot and dry to cooler with showers has really turned the bite on. As Leslie B. says if you don’t come catching because of the weather report that’s more fish for us. lol
WATER FLOW: 171 CFS IN 149 CFS OUT
WATER TEMP: 63
ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
GET READY FOR FALL AND TROPHY SEASON LOOKS LIKE IT HAS STARTED
TROUT: VERY GOOD: Action has really picked up with lots of great Cuttbows running 20 to 23 inches being caught. Boat or shore anglers are really having a great time. The occasional rain has probably helped as the water temperature is dropping and food gets washed into the lake. Look to Dry Creek Outfitters tube jigs, just got a bunch in. Fire Tiger and Snake River patterns are hot. Rapala’s continue catching great fish, got a great selection. Tas Devils and Kastmasters also on a roll. Stop in for the latest updates.
SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: Nothing has changed much here. At least there are a few anglers still popping one or two. Right place right time. Have not seen anyone really score big numbers but for those that put in the time two or three are possible. Best action has been straight out from Marina in 60 feet of water. It’s a onezee twozee thing. But still nice to see.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: Bigger fish getting more aggressive. Smaller ones still fill the void but there are anglers with more stories of “the one that got away” Tube jigs, Stick Baits and Bill’s Spinner Bait producing. Mid to late morning a good time. Yesterday’s strong bite included the Pike too. But lots of stories and no pic’s for proof lol. You know the excuses. We have all used them. That fish ran so hard and fast. Got em right up to the boat and bam just like that broke me off. It was a big one! Hmmmm. I believe them…well some of them.
ROAD: GOOD: It’s as good as it has been all SUMMER better take advantage while it lasts!
