PARK COUNTY FIRE BAN LIFTED COMPLETELY. HOORAY!

ROAD RAGE: For those of us that primarily use CR90/92 from Lake George the new chip and seal is great. However it ends at the general store and the County still refuses to do anything short of a lame dirt grading from there. The road is a disaster three days after grading. They argue the same tired excuses. “The State should maintain the road through the Park” That’s not how its been nor should it be. “Too many miles not enough money” So sick of hearing that. If the State was to have any responsibility it would be to recognize that CR23 to CR90/92 is used in emergencies to reroute traffic if Wilkerson Pass (State Highway 24) is closed due to an accident or other matter which has happened. This has nothing to do with the Park. Lets come up with a cooperative long term plan. Speaking of plan Park County has none. They don’t even have a Master Plan to operate under. The road is theirs and the current state of affairs is unacceptable. I have threatened in the past to take the County to court. I don’t make idle threats and two weeks ago through our attorneys 11 Mile Sports, Inc. filed its complaint and is now suing the County in District Court. We are seeking a Court order to force the County to take action in addition to unspecified damages to be presented at trial. This is going to cost a “boat load” of money. We are pursuing a possible “Go Fund Me” approach for those that have offered and would like to help out. Will let you know as things move forward. In the meantime if you have documentable damage to your vehicle, boat/trailer, RV, etc. send your name and contact info to elevenmile@hotmail.com and we will be in touch.

TROUT: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: As the water temp continues to drop the catching is in full Fall action mode. Trolling and casting are both working working . Kastmasters, Krocodile and Rapala’s doing well. Arnies Dynamic in orange has been hot. Orange in general has been very productive. Tas Devil Y82 Canberra Killer is hot. Tube jigs and black marabou bringing in the hogs. Early morning serves no real benefit (and it’s cold) as fish are being caught through out the day. Noon has had surprisingly hot bites. Don’t let us stop you if you want to go out at 1/2 hour before sunrise, brrrr. Sundown is always good.

KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: Some four year olds being caught in the lake here and there. River is chock full of spawners and action is strong. Regular customer Brian M caught what looked like a 2/3 year old right outside the breakwater recently. But thats the only one reported.

NORTHERN PIKE: GOODTO VERY GOOD: Action continues to be consistent all around the lake. Spoons, tubes and big sticks have all been productive. White has been productive whether it be spinner bait, tube or stick. West has seen some great catches. Timing seems to be concentrated in early to late afternoon but some have been caught earlier. The foul weather has resulted in some hot action for those that aren’t fair weather fisher people. We fish in all types of conditions and although wind isn’t fun and rain calls for the proper gear the bite can be spectacular. Can’t catch them if you don’t try. Time to hit the MILE!

PIC # 5: And ON! pic courtesy Josh

PIC # 6: Marina Staffer April was on a slow streak for Big Trout until she finally got this one on her lunch break off the rental dock.

PIC # 7: We were all trying to catch a big fish in honor of friend of Marina, Pazzy, who lives in California and was celebrating his 91st birthday on Tuesday. It was so windy that day that all efforts were stymied. Larry and Sundown Steve (Pazzy is his grandfather) took to the lake right before sundown as conditions dramatically calmed as a storm appeared to be rolling in. All we caught was one perch and were drifting toward the dock. Almost 30 minutes after sundown (time to get off the lake) and it was getting darker by the minute as storms clouds were upon us. One last cast and Larry hooks into this great fish that put up an incredible fight just outside the breakwater. Steve did a miraculous netting job as conditions were difficult and dark! We celebrated the 9.1 lb Cuttbow (true story) in Pazzy’s honor as the rain came pouring down. Happy 91st birthday Pazzy…wish you were here!
