TROUT: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Action has been stellar on the troll or casting. Boat not required as shore anglers have also had great days. One day last week at about 2:30PM the bite was so intense you couldn’t believe it. None stop catching. Lasted about 30 minutes. But unless you are trying you will miss a repeat. Many baits are working and shore anglers report Power Bait has been on fire. Trollers are loving the Tas Devils and the fly folk are also tearing them up.

KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: Some four year olds being caught in the lake here and there. River is chock full of spawners and action is strong. Regular customer Brian M caught what looked like a 2/3 year old right outside the breakwater recently. But thats the only one reported.

NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Action continues to be consistent all around the lake. Spoons, tubes and big sticks have all been productive. White has been productive whether it be spinner bait, tube or stick. West has seen some great catches. Timing seems to be concentrated in early to late afternoon but some have been caught earlier. The foul weather has resulted in some hot action for those that aren’t fair weather fisher people. We fish in all types of conditions and although wind isn’t fun and rain calls for the proper gear the bite can be spectacular. Can’t catch them if you don’t try. Time to hit the MILE! Plenty caught from shore and boat.

CAN YOU SAY SMORES ON A CAMPFIRE AT ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK!!!!

PIC # 3: Randy Sisco use to guide for us. He moved to Alaska going on 10 years ago. Was here for a visit and took a couple friends out on the super foggy morning last week. After settling down in Alaska he is back at guiding. If you plan a trip to Alaska in the Homer area give him a ring and he will “hook you up”. Call him at 907-953-4741

PIC # 4: When people ask ”where are the fish?” we tell them right out the back door. We are not being smartass…it’s the truth!

PIC # 5: Whenever we hold a Pike by the eyes it sends the Pike Huggers who believe you should catch and release all Pike into a frenzy. “how dare you hold a Pike like that” and much worse etc etc with their frenzied reactions bordering on extremisms and insanity. Practically criminal with threats and more. Keep it up, we turn every name of those making threats over to CPW.

Wait a minute that fish is going to be eaten, shall we beat it to death with a club instead. My grandfather taught me that hold and it’s the safest way to handle one short of the death club. CPW encourages you to harvest Northern Pike and we abide by that. By doing so we hopefully keep them in check. Or would you rather they run a muck like Spinney which has a serious Pike problem…of course no problem if you are a Pike Hugger…kind of like a tree hugger. CPW will soon be taking aggressive Pike mitigation action at Spinney. Stay tuned for details.

So we intend to bring back the Pike Tournament to aid in keeping these fish in check. Big fish fry…the hole nine yards. We stopped doing it because we were just too busy in September so the first week in October sounds perfect!

PIC # 6: File footage July 16. Go April hold that fish by the eyes. Yum Yum eat em up. Nothing like beer batter Pike, or fish tacos or poor mans lobster.
